Everyone wants to be healthy, whole and in-line with their best bodies, and their best lives. In truth, it’s all any of us really need. This basic desire, for health and happiness, is so fundamental to us it’s legitimately what binds us all together in a human family. So what the heck makes something so simple, so intrinsic, so damn difficult to achieve?

How Alignment is key to getting a Super Healthy Body

You are probably aware of bodily alignment, but you may not be hyper aware of holistic alignment. I teach physical alignment in my alignment courses, but this you could also get from a physical therapist or good trainer. What people truly seek me out from me is lessons in holistic alignment; alignment principles that go beyond just awesome posture.

Holistic Alignment: Harmony between Mind, Heart, Spirit & Body results in:

It’s only missing recognition, of pieces of you that matter deeply, that has nudged you out of alignment in the first place!

How we get out of Alignment (and how to get back in)

You’re born aligned. So am I. But many times along the road of life we experience different ways of being (ahem, being hurt). We’re shown different ways of knowing (like, someone else’s destructive beliefs). In essence, we are chucked out of alignment again and again. This is perfectly normal, even natural, but how we deal with it dictates everything that happens next.

If we get back on track, if we realign, our alignment muscles (so-to-speak) get stronger. We stand taller. We become more of the person we always were. We get better.

Make of this what you will — call it a simple learning experience, or proof that the meaning of life is some kind of “schooling” here on earth, or just the basic human struggle — the fact remains: it happens. And it happens a lot.

Some of us learn how to pop back into alignment. That is, if we are lucky enough to be/have parents who have been taught how to manage set-backs, to pop back into living in-line with their inner Truth.

The rest of us, the majority of us, are left to fend for ourselves surrounded by — and this is the clincher — a society that only honours half of the human equation: the mental & physical.

You are a Heart & Spirit as much as you are a Mind & Body. Alignment is harmony within all of you. Our culture doesn’t even recognize a whole half of reality; so how can you be whole within it?

Your Best Body is your most Natural Body.

The body you want to be in is the body you would feel most comfortable in — most yourself in. Am I right? That is not a coincidence. All you have to do is align with that true self, I call it your “Ideal Body Nature“, to make your ideal body composition all but effortless.

Sound too good to be true? Think about it:

Every body is born beautiful, capable and perfect. Then life happens. Your body only starts to deviate from your innate health after things that happen to you. There is nothing ‘wrong’ with you. There is only a malady in how the perfect pieces of you are organized within you.

Re-organizing and remedying what’s actually wrong (unhealed trauma, hurts, un-productive beliefs, etc.) results in your natural health re-surfacing (like when you were young and unscathed). You are perfect. You have lived through imperfect things. No one showed you how to bounce back from that so you’re carrying around the literal weight of other people’s mistakes.

If you are living in a body that you don’t think is ideal — from your own perspective — it’s not your fault. Though it is, for better or worse, totally your responsibility now.

How to use Alignment to Create Effortless Ideal Body Composition

Now that you are a grown (a**) woman, man, person, it’s up to you to change the ways your body and life have deviated from your own ideal version of health. This really begins and ends with alignment. I always work in four step processes, so I’m going to share four simple steps you can use to re-align with your Ideal Body Composition:

1. Figure out your Own Ideal Body Composition

This is the perfect beginning. Unless you are very, very in tune with yourself and inwardly evolved (which many of my students are), you will probably have a very skewed perception of what your ideal body comp actually is.

It’s a trap we sometimes get stuck in: using outside touch points to judge our own beauty, capabilities and perfection.

In fact, it’s kind of expected of most people. It’s just a symptom of misalignment. Many of my students are really inwardly aware, many are even teachers of holistic wellness themselves, but we all still start at the beginning: developing a clear connection to our true desires (and therefore our true destiny).

Getting really clear about how you want to feel, look, move in your body — not someone else’s body — that’s the first step to aligning to your ideal body comp.

2. Heal, Grow & Strengthen: Mindset, Heartset, Soulset & BODiset

Mindset is a big-trend topic these days, and for good reason. Your Mindset is the coach, referee & cheerleader to the whole team within you! However, every player (Heartset, Soulset, BODiset) matters just as much as your Mindset. In fact, if you have a great team, you actually don’t even need an amazing coach! Meaning, your Mindset is only as good as the team it has to work with.

Understanding Heartset, Soulset & even BODiset are integral to an empowered Mindset.

The key to unlocking the most potent Personal Powers in every one of the “Sets” is the UpRoots Wellness holy trinity: Heal, Grow, Strengthen.

The holy three are the main focus of all of my Comprehensive programs, and all of the tools within my toolkits, but progress is especially potent using a therapy I call “RUMi“.

3. Align the “Sets” with your Ideal Body Nature

Next, we connect your Mindset, Heartset, Soulset and yes, BODiset to your natural best body nature within: your Ideal Body Nature.

This is what makes getting into your best body an absolute breeze. Aligning in this way makes every activity your best body needs a total joy, every food your ideal body requires a total craving and delight to eat.

No more struggle, just you aligned with your naturally ideal health and fitness. It’s simple.

This is a multi-step process but you can begin aligning through mindfulness of the body you want (step #1) and the choices you are currently making. I teach a specific non-diet approach, so try to use mindful eating when making food choices and stay away from toxic diet culture.

I teach this specifically in the Aligned Action course, and Ideal Body Nature: Nutrition in its own course, but aligning the Sets are also mainly practiced via the tool I call “MIDi“.

4. Move into your Dream Body in Ideal Form

One of the most straight forward ways to align with your Ideal Body Nature is to simply align your body, physically, while moving throughout the day and exercising.

Physical alignment is very, very important to getting into your best body. In fact, the right alignment can make every movement a target toning exercise. I honestly believe cellulite is a result of poor alignment! In my view, the big muscles of the stomach and glutes switch off to conserve energy (since essentially every movement stems from them) and without actively reactivating them through alignment practices they stay off as much as possible. This results in muscle atrophy, fibrous tissue breakdown and cellulite.

Did you know that fatigue and exercise induced anxiety can often be remedied by focussing on alignment? I used to get major panic attacks from anything more strenuous than yoga. I couldn’t run a block. Now I lift weights, do HIIT training and run 20k per week — all from alignment training.
